Father Murphy, Les Rhinocéros @ Jazz Kocsma

Jazz Kocsma is a relatively tiny, but very atmospheric venue for concerts. There were two ensembles that night, the Italian Father Murphy whose performance reminded me of any post-whatever band - yes, I know, I am deaf - , besides that I enjoyed it and the  Les Rhinocéros from the US who played a nice mixture of folk, psychedic, ethno, rock stuffs. Not to mentioned that their LPs came out under the aegis of Tzadik.

God smiled upon me

I had a preety solid idea what a miracle is. But what actually happened to me is nothing short of a miracle. The institute has a policy in which rules are laid so there will be no mix up. I read when it came out, but I believed that it works as the AE1 does. If one has an unsuccesful part of the exam, then one has to retake it. However, after one could not deliver the satisfying level then one has to retake the whole exam.

Yesterday, I went in to sit all part of the AE2 exam. Today one of my teachers told me that I only had to sit the Essay Writing part since that was my unsuccessful part. I was quite startled to say the least, but I managed to pull myself together and to say thank you.

The moral of the story would be the following: Always read the policy and hope for the best!

I know I promised that I am not going to write here any personally related post but I cannot miss this. My apology!

Top 10 2011-ben

In Treatment

Gabriel Byrne plays the leading role of a new American drama series of HBO an adaptation or rather a remake of an Israeli series BeTipul. His acting makes the character of Dr. Paul Weston authentic. The series is about a psychologist who is counselling with completely different individuals throughout a week. He sees four patients, on Friday he has to undergo the same treatment he usually gives others at the end of the first week.

The Body Farm

Yesterday a new BBC crime drama series kicked off. I was startled first noticing that the whole series will be about body farms. After coming around the idea, I was curious which perspective would the makers choose. Obviously, they may have chosen another, a more fascinating point of view to present the notion of body farms, but they have focused rather on the investigation part of the story.

Dirk Gently

BBC Four has decided to adapt Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. However, as I looked for some comparative opinions about the the book and series, I concluded they had nothing in common. I did not read the previously mentioned novel, but I did read The Salmon of Doubt and I have to admit that I did not have any kind of expectation toward these series. Except I know Douglas Adams, thus I prepared for something funny.

To Whom it may concern

Quite honestly, it was never my intention to do away with this blog. The name itself grew on me, the stories that I may have forgotten now light has to be shed on them to figure out what was the original meaning.

The triggering event faded away, still I decided to remove my laments over the matters of life and most of my visitors may not give a fig whether I draw my eternal breath or not.

This is besides the point, what is important is the following I will carry on my writings about films, music, series and book.
